Lately I have been...

...Drawing buildings lots of them 26 in total - thanks to The Architecture Centre who commissioned me to illustrate the buildings in The Bristol Opening Doors 2013 trail. I absolutely loved being involved in the project - drawing buildings is one of my favourite things to do, along with drinking tea and eating cake (both of which I did whilst illustrating all of the buildings). There are 22 buildings involved in the trail and you can download a walking trail leaflet here and the free app here. I hope you enjoy the buildings and of course the trail, thanks to the Architecture Centre for such a great opportunity I loved it. Below are all the buildings and the trail leaflet enjoy.

Drawn in Bristol calender - Printing process
LAUNCH NIGHT: 6th September, 6-8pm
The Glass Room, Colston Hall Foyer, BS1 5AR
with live music from NASRUDIN (see below)

Twelve members of local illustration collective Drawn in Bristol collaborate to create a unique calendar celebrating all things Bristol.

OPEN NIGHT SPECIAL OFFER: £25 for the whole calendar!

Bristol based illustrators Alexia Tucker, Ben Goodman, Bethan Buss, Carys Ink, Chris Dickason, Dave Bain, Katy Christianson, Martha Ford, Naomi Hocking, Paul Roberts, Sarah Barnes and Slumber have each chosen to reproduce an iconic place in the city, including Christmas Steps, North Street, Brunel's ss Great Britain and the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path, to name a few.

Using a specially selected colour palette the resulting artwork will be handprinted as two-colour screen-prints and presented as framed, signed limited editions in this new exhibition at Colston Hall in September. All the original designs will also be screen-printed onto high quality paper stock and collated together to form a special calendar for 2013.

LAUNCH NIGHT with LIVE MUSIC:
NASRUDIN
Nasrudin is a new group featuring a line up of master percussionist Amadou Diagne and flautist Marick Baxter, from Inu, Pete Gibbs and Tim Petherick, the double bass and guitar players from the Mandibles, and the prolific Beth Porter on cello (who is now full time in Eliza Carthy’s band). Nasrudin’s music is a mixture of music from all over Europe including Romanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian, Klezmer and Gypsy tunes.

Exhibition open to the public daily from Friday 7 - Saturday 29 September

The Glass Room is open from Monday to Friday 8am - 11pm and Saturday 9am-10pm and on Sundays when a concert is scheduled (in quieter times space may close early).
